Blackfield & Langley F.C. are a football club based in the
village of Blackfield, Hampshire. Their first FA Cup appearance was in 2001 when
they were knocked out in the preliminary round. They are currently members of
Wessex League Division One. They play at the Gang Warily Ground in Blackfield.
Their colours are green and white and their local rivals are Fawley and Hythe &
Dibden. On 3 May 2007, it was announced that former Southampton player Jon
Gittens had been appointed as the first team manager.
Stadium: Blackfield play on a pitch behind a large Community
Centre in Blackfield. The view is dominated
by the massive Esso refinery at nearby Fawley, but it’s not a bad little ground
for all that; rather functional but perfectly adequete for this level of the
pyramid. One of the problems of being so close to a Community Centre is ... the
local community. There are skateboarding facilities for the local youth set a
little bit behind the near goal, but it would appear some of the less desirable
elements prefer to congregate within the stand and vandalise the seats. As one
would expect from such a venue, car parking is plentiful.
